Woman raped on city centre street

A woman has been raped in Belfast city centre.

The attack, which happened at Marcus Ward Street, off the Dublin Road, was reported to police at about 0430 BST.

Police have appealed for people, who were in nearby bars and nightclubs on Thursday, who may have noticed anything suspicious to contact them.

A police spokesman said investigations into the attack were still at a very early stage.
