Bishop supports gay row boycott

Bishop Harold Miller
Harold Miller may not take communion at Lambeth

A leading Church of Ireland bishop may boycott Communion at the Lambeth Conference in solidarity with those who are refusing to attend.

A quarter of the 880 bishops invited have refused to attend the worldwide Anglican bishops' conference.

Their refusal is a protest at the presence of church-leaders who ordained a gay bishop in the US in 2003.

Bishop Harold Miller said: "You have to ask questions about a conference which they feel they can't participate in."

The Church of Ireland bishop of Down and Dromore went on to say that he is still considering whether to participate in communion at the conference.
