Arsonists target elderly couple

An elderly couple have escaped injury in an arson attack on a house in north Belfast.

Fire and Rescue crews were called to the premises in the city's Brookvale Avenue area at about 0600 BST on Sunday.

Police said that although the man and woman were uninjured, they were left badly shaken.

Detectives have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.
