Friend denies death crash charges

A 24-year-old man has appeared in court charged with causing the death of his friend in a car crash.

Antony Wilson, 25, died when the Honda Civic he was a passenger in careered off Glenside Road at about 0200 BST on Thursday morning.

A detective told the court he believed he could connect Joseph Thomas Brennan to the charges.

Mr Brennan, who is from Colinvale in Dunmurry, has denied he was the driver of the stolen car.

He is accused of causing death by dangerous driving, driving under the influence of drink or drugs, having disposable gloves for use in a burglary and driving while disqualified.

Mr Brennan was remanded in custody at Craigavon Magistrates Court. His next hearing is on the 22nd of July.
