The company is to set up a centre of excellence in Belfast

Sixty-three new jobs are to be created in Belfast by a leading European telecommunications company.

The French-owned company, Steria, is to set up a centre of excellence in the city.

It will provide management of electronic records and customer relations for the group across the globe.

"Steria is a major player in the European systems integration market," said Economy Minister Arlene Foster.

"Its decision to locate a centre of excellence in Belfast is testimony to its confidence in Northern Ireland."

The minister said the announcement was the culmination of over 18 months' work by Invest NI.

"Once again our strong knowledge base, impressive ICT infrastructure and pool of IT graduates have attracted a global enterprise that recognises the contribution that the region can make to its growth and profitability," she said.
