Thousands of fish have been killed by a suspected chemical spill in the Sixmilewater River in County Antrim.

Conservationists believe that a river which runs into it, has been polluted by the nearby Mallusk Industrial Estate.

Norman Henderson from the Environment and Heritage Service said the incident would be fully investigated.

"We will spare no effort in getting to the bottom of who exactly caused it and what exactly caused it," he said.
