No fly zone over Bush city visit

George Bush is visiting Belfast on Monday

Tight security plans are being put in place for a visit to Belfast by US President George Bush on Monday.

The Stormont estate is to be closed off for nearly 48 hours, and there will be flight exclusion orders over the city.

The government said the estate, including the Mo Mowlam Children's Park, will be closed to the public on Sunday and Monday.

On Monday, assembly and essential staff will be able to get into the Assembly building.

But there will be no assembly session and no Stormont committees, and those politicians who do make it in will have to stay in the building for the duration of the President's visit.

Widespread traffic disruption is expected on Monday, and a helicopter exclusion zone will be in place in the skies above Belfast.

Protests are also expected from anti-war demonstrators over the weekend.
