Four remanded over drugs offences

Court

Four Chinese nationals have been remanded in custody at Ballymena Magistrates Court charged with drugs offences.

A 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named bacause of his age, Qaing Wang 35, Xiao Jun Chen 33, and Ming Li, 33, are charged with possessing cannabis.

They are also charged with possession with intent to supply.

The charges follow a police operation at Gransden Park, Coleraine, where 350 cannabis plants were found in a house.

The court heard that the plants appeared to have been harvested.

It was also told that a van stopped by police leaving the house had 20 black bin bags of cannabis leaves and heads inside.

The men were in remanded in custody to reappear at Coleraine Magistrates Court on 2 June.
