Woman tied up in burglary ordeal

Burglary

A 78-year-old woman is recovering after she was tied to a chair by four men during a burglary in County Down.

It happened at a house in Tullyah Road, Belleeks, at about 2340 BST on Sunday evening.

The woman was in an upstairs bedroom when the gang of four men got into her home.

They ransacked the house and a sum of money was stolen. A police spokesman said that the woman was shaken by her ordeal.

Police said one of the burglars was about 50-years-old, 5ft 10in tall, of heavy build, clean shaven, with dark hair.

The second man was 20-years-old, 6 ft tall, clean shaven with dark hair. A third man was also about 20-years-old, 6ft tall, clean shaven with fair hair.

There is no description available for the fourth man.
