The trial of a man charged with the murder of Robert McCartney has been adjourned until Tuesday.

Mr McCartney, 33, was beaten and stabbed to death outside a bar near Belfast city centre on 30 January 2005.

The man is to appear in Belfast Crown Court, charged with murdering the Short Strand man and causing an affray.

His family claimed IRA members were responsible for his killing and for destroying evidence after the attack. Sinn Féin has denied the claims.
