Partially detonated device found

Rail services have returned to normal

A partially detonated explosive has been found on the railway line between Newry and Portadown, the police have said.

Police and Army bomb experts found the object following a security alert on the line on Thursday.

The partially exploded device contained black powder. No damage was caused and there were no injuries.

The item has been taken away for further examination. Translink said services have returned to normal.
