'Gun found' in fire tragedy house

Fire scene
A neighbour raised the alarm early on Saturday morning

Gardaí are treating as suspicious the deaths of a family of four in a house fire in County Wexford.

It is understood a shotgun has been recovered from the house in Clonroche, a village between Enniscorthy and New Ross.

The bodies of Dermot Flood, 40, his wife Lorraine, 38, and their two children, seven-year-old Mark and Julie, five, were found in the house.

Detectives have set up a crime scene around the remains of the house.

The alarm was raised by a neighbour at about 0530 BST on Saturday.

Fire crews who attended the blaze found the bodies of the parents and the two children inside.

The bodies have been removed from the scene for post mortem examinations to be carried out.
