Vomiting bug at city cancer ward

Norovirus bug
The norovirus bug causes sickness and diarrhoea

No new patients are being accepted onto a cancer ward at Belfast City Hospital because of a bug.

It is believed the bug is norovirus which causes vomiting and diarrhoea. Patients remain on the ward, and the hospital said the ward is not closed.

It is the second time a bug has affected the hospital this year.

It was also hit in January during the national outbreak of the virus, which saw two wards closed to admissions and at least 20 patients fell ill.
