A team led by a student from Belfast has been narrowly beaten in the final of this year's University Challenge.
Architecture student Paul McKay, 24, from the Falls Road, and his team from Sheffield University were beaten by Christ Church, Oxford.
The Oxford team won the quiz show title by 220 points to 170.
"Obviously I am disappointed, but we could not have tried any harder," said Paul.
"If you'd said to me last year that we would get to the final and then lose I'd have been happy with that," he said.
"It's just been fun the whole way through."
Paul, 24, a former pupil of St Mary's on the Glen Road, was chosen as captain after a university-wide audition.
In April 2004, Freya McClements, from Castlerock, led a Magdalen College, Oxford, team to victory.
While at school, Paul took part in the televised BBC quiz programme, Schools Challenge, which his team won in 2001.
