'High-risk sex offender' jailed
Gavel
A hairdresser from Donegal has been jailed for two years for indecently assaulting a 17-year-old in Derry on St. Patrick's Day last year.

33-year-old Michael Diver, from Cashel in Carndonagh, was described in court as a "high-risk sex offender".

Londonderry Crown Court heard he brought his victim, who was drunk, to a flat in Sackville Street and assaulted him.

Diver had been freed from prison in the Republic three months previously.

Judge Desmond Marrinan described the offences as "very serious", and sentenced him to a further two years probation.

He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders' register indefinitely.
