A computer expert from Londonderry is celebrating his new status as a millionaire after winning a share of the EuroMillions.

Father-of-one Ryan Magee, 27, scooped £6.4m in Friday's draw, after buying 11 tickets in four different towns.

His was one of six tickets in the UK which shared the record £95m rollover jackpot.

He said he had a feeling he would win: "In the week leading up to the draw I was certain I would win."

He added: "I just couldn't get it out of my head. So on the day, while I was travelling on business, I bought tickets in Omagh, Strabane, Coleraine and Londonderry.

"The winning ticket was the last one of the 11 I checked by which time the numbers were in my head so I knew straightaway that I'd won - but despite my premonition I still couldn't believe it."

The IT specialist has ordered a top-of-the-range Ferrari and it is due for delivery on Friday.

Wife Margaret, 32, a trainee psychiatric nurse, is expecting their second child in August.

The couple, who live close to Derry's Altnagelvin Hospital, have a 10-year-old son, Lee.

He said: "My only regular flutter is three lines on the Saturday Lotto draw so my 11 tickets were out of the ordinary for me - I really did have that lucky feeling.

"I was at a house party on Friday night and all my friends checked their tickets. But I never check my tickets on the night - I always like going to bed thinking I could wake up a millionaire."

He now plans to expand his own servicing and repair business and confirmed he was likely to look for a new home once the fuss died down.

The winning numbers were 17, 28, 30, 38 and 44, while the Lucky Star numbers were 01 and 04.

Because no-one managed to match all the five main numbers plus the two lucky star numbers, the £95m will be shared among the next level of winners.

The 16 winners, who matched all five main numbers and one lucky star, will receive £6,462,181.30 each.

Six of the winning tickets came from the UK, with five coming from France, two from Switzerland, and one each from Austria, Belgium and Portugal.
