Reservoir leak cuts homes' water
Repairing water main
The water main is being repaired
Some homes in Omagh are still without water after a pipe burst at a County Tyrone reservoir.

Water began draining rapidly from the reservoir in Killyclogher on Thursday afternoon.

On Friday morning, Northern Ireland Water reported that the reservoir had run dry and they were investigating the possibility of a second leak.

Pupils at Sacred Heart College in Omagh were sent home early, as the canteen was not able to operate properly.

Mother-of-two from Coolnagard, Jacinta McKeown, said that her home had no water in the morning.

"We just assumed last night when we went to bed that we had enough water to see us through last night and this morning when we got up, but we had no idea that this would continue," she said.

"I'm quite sure the water service and the powers that be are doing to the best of their ability but it just doesn't help us at the minute."

Other residents have been warned there may be reduced water pressure while repairs are carried out.

NI Water says most people should have supplies restored, may take some time for those in remote areas or live on higher ground to get back to normal.
