Pensioner murder inquiry launched
The scene was cordoned off as forensic officers examined the area
The pensioner was found lying in an alleyway
Police have begun a murder inquiry after a pensioner, who was assaulted in Portadown nearly three months ago, died in hospital on Wednesday.

Francis Gerard Lyttle, 71, was attacked while he walked his dog in the Garvaghy Road area of the town in November.

Mr Lyttle was discovered lying in alleyway at Churchill Park by a member of the public.

He was reported at the time to have been critically injured during the attack.
