Air controllers drop overtime ban

The air controllers' overtime ban has ended pending talks
Air traffic controllers in Dublin have withdrawn an overtime ban in a row about staffing levels.

They have agreed to resume co-operation with overtime requirements, pending the outcome of a Labour Relations Commission hearing on Wednesday.

Representatives of the Irish Aviation Authority and the air traffic controllers' union, Impact, will attend the meeting.

No disruption to flights is now expected.

Controllers claim they are being overworked and have to work continuous overtime to keep flights on schedule and had threatened to only work their contracted hours from Thursday.

Impact said there had been a "staff shortage and inadequate recruitment since the 9/11 attacks in the USA".
