Eddie McGrady offered his seat to a pregnant colleague
|
Although they are referred to as honourable gentlemen, it appears some male MPs are less than deserving of the title.
It took seasoned parliamentarian Eddie McGrady to set an example for colleagues earlier this week. The SDLP South Down member offered his seat to a heavily pregnant fellow MP in a packed House of Commons.
Watford Labour MP Clare Ward, who is due to give birth in five weeks, had been sitting on the floor in the gangway, prior to Mr McGrady's chilvalrous act.

When contacted by BBC News, Mr McGrady modestly said that he didn't "feel it appropriate to comment".
However, on Friday the MP's assistant confirmed that he "had of course done the appropriate thing".
