City warning over escaped python

Police have warned people in east Belfast to be on the lookout for an escaped snake.

The baby python escaped from its owner in the area of Castlereagh Place and Hyndford Street early on Wednesday.

The snake is between one and a half and two feet long and is likely to have gone somewhere warm as it is usually kept in temperatures above 22C.

It is not venomous, but police are advising anyone who finds it to contact them immediately.
