A pipe bomb has been found at a house in Antrim.

The device was found in Somerset Park in the town's Rathenraw estate. Army technical officers removed the device for further examination.

It was found shortly after 0100 GMT following a number of searches after information was passed to the police.

Police said a sectarian motive was one line of inquiry. Their investigations are continuing and they have urged the public to be vigilant.

Anyone who notices anything suspicious is asked to report it to the police.
