Burglars steal Christmas savings
Police patrol
Police have appealed for information
An elderly woman's Christmas money has been stolen by burglars in north Belfast, police have said.

The 80-year-old's ground floor flat in Tennent Street in the Shankill area was broken into sometime over the weekend.

She left her home at about noon on Saturday and discovered the burglary on her return shortly before 1530 GMT on Monday.

Entry had been gained to the flat by forcing the rear window. Police have appealed for information.
