Man faces court on firearm charge

A man is expected to appear in court in Belfast later charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life.

It follows searches in west Belfast and Fermanagh in an operation against dissident republican activity.

The 28-year-old man is due to appear in court in Belfast later.

The arrest followed searches by officers from the PSNI's serious crime department at premises in west Belfast and County Fermanagh on Saturday.
