Town reels from second jobs blow
Seagate
Seagate has already announced 900 redundancies
An electronics firm in Limavady is to close in January with the loss of 70 jobs.

Employees at Huco Lightronics were told last year that there would be a review of operations, and it has now been confirmed that manufacturing will stop.

The company makes vehicle and lighting electronic parts.

The closure brings to 1,000 the number of manufacturing jobs lost within weeks in Limavady. Some 900 people have already lost their jobs at Seagate.

DUP assembly member Gregory Campbell said it was another blow for the town.

The company said a number of meetings have been held between management and the employees in which they were informed of developments.

Huco Lightronics was established in Limavady in 1989.
