Man assaulted by masked gang
Five armed masked men forced their way into the house
Five armed masked men forced their way into the house
The police have said they are not ruling out a racial motive for an attack on a man in County Antrim.

The man was seriously assaulted after five masked men, some armed with iron bars and one possibly with a gun, forced their way into a house at Tynan Drive in Monkstown, Newtownabbey around 0200 BST on Sunday.

The man was taken to hospital with fractures and puncture wounds.

A pregnant woman, who was also in the house at the time, was not physically injured.

It is understood the victim was a member of the Chinese community.

Detectives in Newtownabbey are appealing for information about the attack.
