Death driver given one year ban
Court
A teenage driver who knocked down and killed a man in County Fermanagh has been banned from driving for a year.

A jury at Omagh Crown Court cleared Paul Joseph McCusker, from Drumkeen, Ederney, of dangerous driving, but convicted him of careless driving.

Keirnon Connor, who was 37, died after being hit near Kesh in the early hours of St Patrick's Day last year.

McCusker, who was 17 at the time, told the police he lost control of the car, but did not know he had hit someone.

Disqualifying McCusker for 12 months and fining him £150, Judge Patrick Lynch QC said, despite his good character, "this was a grossly bad piece of careless driving".
