A man is due to appear in court charged in connection with raids targeting dissident republicans in Craigavon, police have said.

The 35-year-old is to appear at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Saturday on terrorism and arms charges.

Of eight other men arrested in the operation seven have been released without charge, police said.

One other man was released pending a report being submitted to the Public Prosecution Service.

The man due to appear in court is charged with possessing a firearm for a purpose in connection with the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism.

He is also charged with having balaclavas, an explosive substance and ammunition.

As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
