Up to 162 hi-tech jobs are being created
A multi-million pound investment by a US telecoms firm could create up to 162 hi-tech jobs in Belfast.

The Invest Northern Ireland-backed investment will see Mformation establish a development and technical support centre in Belfast.

Mformation provides software to wireless network operators.

Economy Minister Nigel Dodds said Northern Ireland now had a number of hi-tech companies servicing the international mobile telecoms industry.

"Mformation's decision to locate in Northern Ireland is testament to our strong knowledge base, ICT infrastructure and talented people," Mr Dodds said.

Invest NI has offered assistance totalling £2.1m in support of the project.

Mark Edwards, chief executive of Mformation, said Northern Ireland offered "an outstanding location option" for the company.

"The Belfast operation will become a centre of technical excellence and as a key strategic development facility, it will offer advanced career opportunities for skilled people across Northern Ireland," he added.
