Masked gang shoot man in alleyway

Police have appealed for information about the shooting

A man has been shot in the knees and shoulder by a masked gang in Strabane, County Tyrone.

Up to six men forced their way into a house - three through the front and three through the back - in Springhill Park at about 2200 BST on Thursday.

They took the 30-year-old victim into a nearby alleyway where they shot him several times.

He is being treated in hospital, and the police have appealed for information.

Two of the men are believed to have left the area in a white van. The other four left on foot in different directions.
