The dismembered body found in a bin behind a block of flats was that of a 34-year-old man from south Belfast.

The body of William David McClatchey, from Taughmonagh, was found behind the block of flats at Pottinger House in the east of the city on Monday.

Police have received the results of a post mortem examination, but are not yet releasing details.

One man, 42, has been arrested and is helping detectives with their enquiries.

Forensic teams have been searching a ground floor flat in the block of apartments, just off Castlereagh Street.

Detectives had been alerted by a phone call reporting suspicious activity.
