A man has appeared in court charged in connection with a killing in County Tyrone in October 2004.
Noel Williamson, 30, from Killylea in County Armagh, was found beside the Blackwater River in Caledon.
In the dock was Matthew O'Donnell, 27, who has been serving a prison sentence in Cork, and was extradited on Friday.
A detective said he had been a suspect in 2004 but had left the jurisdiction.
He said he then absconded while out on bail pending an extradition hearing.
The accused appeared before Dungannon Magistrates' Court, having been extradited from the Irish Republic after a European bench warrant was issued in Dublin.
Mr O'Donnell, formerly of Castle Park in Caledon, is to appear in court again next week when the charges will be formally put to him.
Mr Williamson's body was discovered by a person out walking along an isolated pathway beside the river.
Last October, a man who admitted his role in the killing was jailed for eight years.
