Shots were fired through a front window
A woman and her daughter have escaped injury after shots were fired through the window of a house in County Antrim.

The shooting happened at about 0215 GMT on Wednesday at Moat Road in the Ballykeel estate, Ballymena.

It is understood a shotgun or similar firearm was fired through the front downstairs window.

The woman and her eight-year-old child were upstairs at the time. Three men are being questioned by police about the incident.

Police are appealing for information.

Ballymena SDLP councillor Declan O'Loan condemned the attack.

"To have a gun fired through the downstairs windows in the early hours of the morning was obviously a terrifying experience for a mother and her eight-year-old daughter," he said.

"Indeed it will have been very alarming for all the neighbours in this quiet residential street. Fortunately, no-one was physically injured."
