Kind couple left stranded by taxi
Taxi sign
A Belfast taxi driver who drove off with a woman's handbag is being urged by police to return it.

The woman and her husband had got into the black taxi in Bradbury Place in south Belfast early on Sunday.

The taxi broke down on Grosvenor Road and the driver asked the couple to get out and give him a push.

But when the car started again, he drove off, leaving the couple stranded. The lady appealed for the return of her bag, where she kept a medical device.

She has been ill recently and has an implant fitted which is activated by a pain control monitor which she carried around with her.

Detectives in west Belfast have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
