Two males have been arrested by police investigating the rape of a woman in Woodvale Park in north Belfast.

The victim, who is in her late teens, was attacked and beaten on Monday.

The woman suffered cuts and bruising to her body. Chief Inspector Andrea McMullan said the girl had been walking home on Monday when she was set upon.

A PSNI spokeswoman said: "Detectives investigating a serious sexual assault in the Woodvale Park area on Monday 4 December, have arrested two males."

Details of the attack were only released by police on Tuesday.
