A bomb has been found during a police search operation in County Fermanagh.
It was discovered on the Clogh Road near Rosslea following reports that dissident republicans had abandoned a landmine in the area.
Chief Inspector Alywin Barton said he had no doubt that the device could have caused serious injury or death.
He said: "I believe this was an attempt to kill members of the community police in the area." The security operation will continue on Saturday.
