Police no-show sees cases dropped
Scales of justice
A judge has thrown out four cases at a County Donegal court after prosecuting gardai failed to turn up.

The cases of alleged drunk and disorderly behaviour, speeding and driving without insurance were struck out at Letterkenny District Court.

A garda said the prosecution could not proceed as the officers were not there and asked for the cases to be put back.

But Judge Thomas Fitzpatrick dismissed the cases after hearing that the defendants were present and ready.
