A 17-year-old youth has been stabbed twice in the kitchen of a house in County Armagh.

A gang of up to six men forced their way into the house at Charles Street, Lurgan, at about 0120 BST on Saturday.

They attacked the youth, who was with four others. He is being treated in hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Meanwhile, a man has been treated for face, head and arm injuries after an assault at a house in County Antrim.

The incident occurred sometime after 2200 BST on Friday at Fountain Place, in Ballymena.

The man sustained a slash injury to his face, a head injury and a suspected broken arm.

Detectives said they were following a definite line of enquiry.

The incident is not believed to be sectarian or linked to paramilitaries. Police have appealed for information.
