Two men have been arrested by detectives investigating a cross-border hijacking spree.

Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland detained the men in London.

The pair, aged 32 and 23, have been taken back to Newry for questioning. In all, nine vehicles were stolen or damaged by a gang on 14 September.

Police said the gang had been on a hijacking spree across counties Down, Armagh and Louth.
