A 74-year-old man has been left badly shaken after he was assaulted and robbed at his home.

The incident occurred in the Glenburn area of Dunmurry on the outskirts of Belfast at about 1200 BST on Saturday.

Robert Crowe was at home when a young man knocked on the door. When the pensioner opened it, he was attacked.

"He pushed me down into my chair and when I turned around to put my hand into my pocket, my wallet had gone with £50 in it," Mr Crowe said.

"He has left me now with nothing."

A police spokesperson has asked for eyewitnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact detectives.
