Teenager charged over road death
Scales of justice
An 18-year-old man charged with causing the death by dangerous driving of an elderly woman in County Londonderry has been released on bail.

Margaret Chivers, 85, from Limavady, was killed in the accident at Cam Road near Macosquin at 1400 BST on Sunday.

Mark Ellis, from Josephine Avenue in Limavady, was driving a car which was in collision with Mrs Chivers' vehicle.

Her daughter was injured while an 18-year-old passenger in the accused's car remains gravely ill in hospital.

The accused denied charges of causing death and grievous bodily harm by dangerous driving.

Coleraine Magistrates Court heard that he admitted a charge of driving without insurance.

He was given bail to reappear in court on 2 October.
