Missing man murdered, police fear
Daron McReynolds
Daron McReynolds has been missing since 2001
Police have said they are now treating as murder the disappearance of a man last seen almost five years ago.

Daron McReynolds, from Cookstown, has been missing since November 2001.

Detectives have said as a result of the length of time he has been missing and lack of any "routine life activity" they believe he was murdered.

At the time of his disappearance Mr McReynolds was known to drive a white Volkswagen, registration GUI 8536, which has not been seen since.

Police have appealed for anyone who can help their investigation to contact them.

Detective Superintendent Derek Williamson said: "It is vital that we get help from the public in trying to unravel this case.

"I am convinced there are people within the local community who know exactly what happened to Daron and for the sake of his family I would urge those people to come forward and assist us."

Police particularly want to hear from people involved in the motor salvage trade and may have scrapped the car in late 2001 or early 2002.
