The Ormeau Baths gallery has re-opened after four montsh
The Ormeau Baths Gallery in Belfast has reopened after being closed in controversial circumstances four months ago.

The art gallery, which reopened on Thursday evening, was closed in February after it was reported to be in financial difficulties.

The Arts Council, which is the main funder of the gallery, said at the time the situation was no longer tenable.

It promised that the gallery would be reopened under new management.

Arts Council chairperson Rosemary Kelly said she believed the gallery "would be a success this time".

"(The gallery) had its difficulties, but we have a large proportion of the sector behind us as we set off on this new journey," she said.

"Later in the year a new board will be appointed, there will be new staff, there will be a wider remit."

Outside the building, supporters of the original gallery management held their own exhibition.
