The police have said there will be a high-profile operation over the bank holiday weekend in Northern Ireland to crack down on motoring offences.
It follows a horrific Easter when seven people were killed. Police in the Republic will also mount operations.
Chief Superintendent Wesley Wilson said police will target those behaving irresponsibly on the roads.
"There'll be speed trap patrols, we'll be out to detect drunk drivers and drivers who are taking drugs," he said.
"We'll be prosecuting anybody we find on the roads who is breaking the law."
A get-tough message is also coming out of the Republic.
There, "Operation Lifesaver" will see an increased number of checkpoints put in place to catch drink drivers.
In the last three weeks, more than 10,000 fixed charge or penalty point offences have been detected by the Irish police.
