The area of the attack was cordoned off for a time
Police are investigating an allegation of a sexual assault on a woman in her 20s in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter.

It is understood to have happened sometime between 0330 and 0400 BST on Friday at the junction of Donegall Street and Academy Street.

Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to come forward.

The area was cordoned off by police for a time on Friday morning, but has now re-opened.
