CCTV 'may help over missing man'
Martin Kelly
Martin Kelly went missing in Belfast
The police have released CCTV footage in a fresh appeal for information about a missing County Down man.

Martin Kelly, from Holywood, was last seen leaving Pat's Bar in the Docks area of Belfast on New Year's Day.

Tuesday is Mr Kelly's 22nd birthday and the police hope pictures of two potential witnesses will give them fresh leads in their inquiry.

Although the CCTV pictures are of poor quality, the police hope they may jog someone's memory.

Detectives are also trying to establish Martin's movements for part of 1 January.

Police Superintendent Ken Eccles said: "This is CCTV footage that has been enhanced by scientists in Great Britain.

"We are hoping that, in some way, members of the public may be able to help us from what they see on the actual footage."

The Kelly family have enlisted the help of a psychic to try and help them in the search.

Diane Lazarus has previously been involved in attempts to find missing people.

Martin's mother Karen appealed directly to her son on Tuesday, in the hope that he might still be alive.

"Martin, if you are out there and see me and Fiona, sweetheart, we're up at our new home where you know that we're living," she said.

"Your bedroom is just the way you wanted it to be and there will be a seat at the table for you. Your birthday card is here and your presents."

Mrs Kelly said working with psychic, Ms Lazarus, had been difficult but worthwhile.

"If Martin is out there, and if she can find him, I would try anything to get him back," she said.

The two women set off from Pat's Bar on Monday, where Martin was last seen.

On the quayside nearby, Ms Lazarus said she had a strong feeling that Martin's body was in the River Lagan.

"He's close to a wall that's full of green moss. I just know he is," she said.

Ms Lazarus said she was convinced Martin's body was trapped in an archway beneath the water's surface.

"What I'm visualising is a wall with a lot of green moss, but as you go down, it would be like an arch or a cove," she said.

Mr Kelly, a plumber and part-time barman, stayed on in Pat's Bar after his friends left and was seen leaving it alone at about 1910 GMT on 1 January.
