A 14-year-old boy arrested by police on suspicion of attempted murder has been released pending a report to the DPP.

The youth was arrested early on Thursday morning.

It is understood he was being questioned about a petrol bomb attack at a home in Ballymurphy, west Belfast, on Wednesday.

Two women and three children escaped from the burning house at Whitecliff Parade following the attack, which happened at about 0130 GMT.
