Missing sex offender is arrested
Robert Wallace
Robert Simpson Wallace was arrested in Lurgan
Police have arrested a "high risk" sex offender who went missing after failing to comply with probation conditions.

Convicted sex offender Robert Simpson Wallace, 77, was arrested in Lurgan, County Armagh, on Wednesday evening.

The alarm was raised earlier because Wallace had left his approved accommodation in Belfast and had failed to sign the sex offenders register.

Police had warned that he was considered to pose a serious risk to vulnerable women and girls.

The public had been warned not to approach him but to contact the police if they had information on his whereabouts.

A spokeswoman for the PSNI said police wanted to thank the public for their "great response" to an earlier appeal for information about Wallace's whereabouts.
