It is believed a large fire on the outskirts of west Belfast on Saturday night was started deliberately.
A petrol tanker, five cars and gas cylinders all caught alight during the blaze at a yard on the Colin Glen Road.
Senior divisional fire officer Jim McCallum said that it could have been a lot worse.
"Our initial concerns were that there was fuel in the tanker and if it had been full it would have been an extremely serious fire," he said.
"Fortunately the crews were able to tackle the fire and had it extinguished it relatively quickly.
"It could have been much more serious."
Mr McAllum said the incident is believed to have been arson, but further investigations would be carried out.
