Man 'bit off part of wife's ear'
A Belfast man has been charged with biting part of his wife's ear off during an alleged domestic row.

Patrick Pius Kelly is also charged with destroying a shower door and ornaments belonging to his wife Geraldine after an alleged fight last Thursday.

Mr Kelly, 46, of Whiterock Road, was remanded in custody when he appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court on Saturday.

The court heard the defendant sunk his teeth into his wife's ear after he allegedly warned her he would.

PSNI constable Jim Miney told the court he believed he could connect the accused to the charges.

Resident Magistrate Bernadette Kelly remanded Mr Kelly in custody to appear again via video link on 7 June.

A solicitor for Mr Kelly said he intended to apply to the High Court for bail.
